What New Suspense Fiction Books You Should Check Out

Chances are, if you are taking a look at an article with this kind of title, you are an avid reader of suspense fiction books and you are looking for an author that might be altogether new to you. Sure, there are hundreds in the genre alone that you could choose from, but it might be easier to start with one.

For the sake of this particular article, though, you will be introduced to an established writer with quite a following in his own right. The man behind the article today will be Ted Dekker. This impressive writer has spun some truly thrilling tales on a number of different topics, and through the course of the following paragraphs, you will be introduced to two selections of his. This might help you learn his style a little bit better.

One of the first books that you might encounter when you are coming around to learning a bit about the author, will likely be “Thr3e”. This impressive tale centers around a student, Kevin, that is fresh out of seminary and looking for his place in the world. Suddenly he is talking on the phone with a man known as Slater with intent on revealing some hidden sin in Kevin’s life.

He learns that a man named Slater is set to expose his hidden sin, though Kevin has no idea what this sin is. In fact, he learns that unless he figures it out, it could very well cost him his life too. This story has enough plot twists to keep you guessing clear to the end with a cat and mouse unlike anything you might have read for quite some time.

The second on the list of books that you might care to check out from Ted Dekker would be “Adam”. This particular novel follows a dedicated FBI Special Agent that is working hard to solve the cases surrounding a new serial killer known as “Eve”. Each and every new moon, the killer strikes and kills a woman. To date, the killer has done away with 15 women, with no signs of stopping any time soon.

At one point the agent nearly catches the killer, only to die in the process for a few moments. In this event, he gets a glimpse of the killer, but cannot remember due to the trauma of having died. The killer than abducts the agent’s wife, to make her the sixteenth victim. The agent learns that the answers to catch the serial killer lie in the moments that he was dead, and he must die a few more times to put the pieces back together.

All in all Ted Dekker is surprisingly one of the best suspense fiction books writer out there right now. That is surprising, because he also writes from a very grounded and apparent Christian faith and perspective. History has shown that the this genre and that belief structure don’t always mix, but Dekker makes you forget lines and commonalities, and gets back to what people need… Some great suspense.
